ORLANDO SHOOTER WORKED FOR G4S

When it emerged that the Orlando killer was working for G4S their shares dropped to the lowest since 2009. G4S is one of David Camron's biggest contractors.

Omar Mateen pledged alliance to the Islamic State before he went to the Pulse gay Club in Orlando and killed 50 people. He had work for G4S since 2007.

Mateen was questioned twice by G4S and cleared but the company admitted they knew he was also questioned by the FBI in 2013 for possible terror links.

The revelation deals several doubts about security and checks on employees by G4S. The company was already in the headlines regarding their contract of tagging prisoners when released on probation. It had been found that the company charged for tagging prisoners who died or lived abroad or still in prison. In other words Fraud.

G4S also won the contract to guard the Olympics 2012. Already at that time the Olympics were regarded under a high potential threat from terrorism. G4S should have made double sure it was safe but 10 days  before the Opening Ceremony it was found out that G4S did not have nearly enough security guards to prevent an attack. Furthermore, a whistle blower pointed out the slapdash of their checking out the applicants.

PM David Cameron ignored it all which should be his embarrassment with his contractor and deployed the army, some came back from Afghanistan and their leave was cancelled, and the police. Both done a fantastic stop but just a few months before Mr Cameron axed Armed Forces and police by the thousands. It shows his attitude towards the Armed Forces and Police.

G4S despite of big slip-ups which should have never happened to a security firm kept their contracts with the Government.

The very fact that the FBI questioned Omar Mateen showed a risk in security even though FBI did not find enough evidence. In 2013 Mateen had an argument with a co-worker about terrorist related comments and also was alleged of links to a suicide bomber in Syria.

It should have been enough for G4S to have their doubts about Mateen

to work as a security for the firm.
 

SERCO AND G4S EARNED £700MILLION TAXPAYERS MONEY

A junior civil servant first discovered that there were serious discrepancies in their accounts but it was dismissed at that time, a few years ago.

Serco used to be the biggest company the public never heard off. The first time it came to public attention when it signed a contract to safeguard the 2012 London Olympic.  Ten days before the Opening Ceremony Serco admitted that it could not handle it because it has not got the staff.A whistle-blower also stated that the security checks on employed staff was was very bad. This was at a time when London and the Olympics were on high alert from terrorism attacks. Their contracts should have been cancelled there and then.

PM David Cameron saved his neck by deploying police which he severely cut back and Army whose leave was cancelled coming back from fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. After that he axed police and Army forces by the thousands as a thank you present.

With lots of mismanagement and swindles it now faces bankruptcy. Serco have made a fortune off the government for decades from its privatisation programme.

The question is now can Churchill’s grandson, Rubert Soames, head of Serco, save it and why should it be saved?

As always and first of all the Tory Government must have been aware since the swindles even made headlines years ago and still let them carry on.

Again the already cash strapped public gets charged with £700million (privatisation suppose to be saving) while the Welfare gets cut first with austerity and now £12billion on top of it.

The paperwork they give the contractors show a lot of complications. It can extending into a huge pile of does and don’t even for the simplest task. The government civil service laid down explicitly in great details contractors supposed to do. It often goes into hundreds of pages with phrases as KPI (key performance indication) and SLA (Service Level Agreement).  The papers are kept secret from the customer – us the public. When they are signed it is seldom that they are looked at it again.

Serco tagging contract were discovered in 2013 for charges of people who were dead, in prison or names never been found.

Serco expanded world wide and in a fast rate that the British Government was only a quarter of its global earnings.

Serco also made fraudulent charges on its contract for transporting prisoners to and from the courts. It also hit the headline several times because of the number of prisoners escaped.

Serco has a great number of subsidiaries.  Rentokil for cleaning  contracts ; G4S for securities; Capita for IT;  private financed hospitals; prisons; military facilities;  local education authorities; immigration contracts including YARL’s Wood  immigration centre.  As you can see Serco applied for every contract where privatisation was made and the Government gave it every time.

Rubert Soames, grandson of Winston Churchill, took over Serco and one month after went to Margaret Hodge, chair of the House of Commons public account committee,  which is parliamentary main watchdog over £120billion outscoring industry.

She said: “He said he was going to turn it all around. All the gossip to me was that he was going to go bust.”

There we are, the public, have another account of Government wasting taxpayers’ money. It joins an almost endless list of wasting money. Yet they have the thick nerve of demanding, and they get it despite of House of Lords turned it down, of £12billion Welfare cuts plus £16billion council cuts.

Update 4 Jan., 2018 -- Despite all the scandal May plans to give power to Serco and G4S to be able to arrest people. It also means privatisation of the police. Serco and G4S are known for very bad check-ups on people's background they employ!!! So you will never know what kind of person it is arresting you, throw in jail, which could have a devastating effect on your life, job and family.

UPDATE: 22 May, 2015 --  G4S is in the headlines again because the children held in prison run by G4S received "degrading treatment" and "racial abuse". Ofsted's report gave Rainsbrook, Secure Training Centre, Northamptonshire, the lowest possible rating and being investigated by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman. 

What did they do all this time. One boy even died. It will be another headline today and a whitewash in the inquiry and G4S will receive another contract tomorrow. 

In my opinion many Cameron's contractors have committed fraud and failures in their contracts but Cameron will not cancel one of them.

UPDATE:  24 June, 2014  --  A new report stated that ATOS has a backlog of around 500,000  investigations. Another fine mess we have here and for that the PM  David Cameron paid £1billion  Money which is desperately needed in many places.  Well done David Cameron.

UPDATE: 12 June, 2014 --- It was reported that 700,000 people lost their disability benefit due to ATOS and have now to fight for it to get it back. In the meantime, what does ATOS and Government think they live on? Furthermore, it cost money to fight a case which should be rightly yours. Before there was Legal Aid but now even that is cut. This is a crime what these fatcats cold-bloodily doing. They got no morals, principles or responsibilities towards the people who elected them.
  

UPDATE:  30 December, 2013 -- A new report revealed that a young man who was blind had his Disability Benefit withdrawn by ATOS and told to get a job. That was the last straw for him and hanged himself. Well done ATOS and the Government which paid £1billion to employ this French company to assess them to cut the Disability Benefit. You should be proud of yourselves to be the cause of over 1,000 deaths. How many more have to die before you close this despicable agency down.  Then there will be another millions of pound for Golden Handshakes paid out. A great way of saving money. The Universal Credit Reform is the Government's greatest mess there ever was and it cost millions of pounds but most of all lives.

There were numerous reports about these companies failing in their work according to their contracts but nothing has been done about it. Several of my blogs have tried to high light their irresponsibility as reported in newspapers. SERCO adding data to medical records in the NHS to meet the required number of appointments demanded by the government which is nothing but fraud.

As previously, at the beginning, ATOS was accused of causing around 1,000 deaths. Admittedly some might have died anyway but the majority of the 1,000 deaths cannot be explained as they might have died anyway. These people have died of worries which deteriorated their health even further or maybe some even committed suicide. The government would deny the fact that they would be responsible for their death but they can't deny that most of them did die because of the wrong assessment by ATOS and their benefit was cut. What does the Government think they will be living on?

ATOS is a French company contracted by the Government for about £1billion. There are responsible to check out disabled people whether they are really entitled to their Disability Benefit. So far so good but now comes in the most unfair and devastating act in their decision. The Government and that includes the leader of the Coalition David Cameron demanded to pass only one in eight claimants of disability benefit. This is an impossible task. These people have been on Disability Benefits because the majority cannot work which gave them the entitlement.  At the same time the Government made the most controversial decision to close factories Remploy where disabled people could find some jobs. Does it make any sense?

Only very recently a scandal was reported in the newspapers that ATOS told long-term or fatal illness sufferers like Parkinson, MS, CF and others they will be better in three months time and therefore able to work.  To be sure they were never so insulted in their lives.  These statements are absolute lunacy since the whole medical world trying to find the causes of these illnesses and cures, so far to no avail. So how can ATOS have the nerve to throw this rubbish in their faces?  Aren’t they already suffering enough? Especially David Cameron should know better from personal experiences and interfere to stop these absolute insulting, hurtful statements.

Furthermore, has to be mentioned, that Britain has up to five million unemployment although the Government plays it down all the time but National Office of Statistic announced a 4.9million. It means, let us spell it out for the Government to understand, that healthy people can’t get a job and to spent £1billion on ATOS to force disabled and long term ill people back to work is not only irresponsible but sheer lunacy.

At the beginning of this blog we spoke of around 1,000 deaths when ATOS first started its devastating work. Now, there is a video on YouTube which tells of more than 10,000.  Whether the high number of deaths is disputable or not but it pound to have increased greatly over the years ATOS done its dirty work, advised by the Government.  How does David Cameron and his Government feel about having cause deaths, no matter what the number is, by cutting off Disability Benefits to very ill people? 

If they deny they were the cause and people would have died because of their disability then how about people committing suicide, and this time there is not doubt about it, because they are in debt on account of the Bedroom Tax and facing eviction.  It is not as many as the deaths of disabled people but nevertheless every suicide was caused by the Government and Prime Minister David Cameron. Or does that not count either?

The Spare Bedroom Tax is nothing but a trap. The Government knew the people have no chance of moving into a smaller property because there aren’t any. Therefore is either pay or sink.

David Cameron voted down the suggestion made by LibDem leader Nick Clegg, his coalition partner, which was a Mansion Tax.  It would have hit the rich who wouldn’t have even missed the thousands of pounds and also locked them in into paying tax instead of transferring their profits into tax havens. 

These facts give us all the picture of this Government and their attitude towards their friends and ordinary people.

GOVERNMENT GIVES ANOTHER CONTRACT TO G4S -- Updated 30 March, 2015

UPDATE: 30 March, 2015 -- G4S is now in another scandal. The plans are to cut Cleaners and ancillary workers at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage, the hourly rate down to £5.98. It would not be friends of the Tories low payment and threatening at the same time to sack 300 worker if they do not accept. They announced that they will hire people on a lower rate.  Ed Miliband's promise to cap the contractors' profit has just come in time or is it because of his announcement did the G4S already lower the payments?  A fine example why private companies should be kicked out and never receive a contract.

UPDATE: 29 April, 2014 --  Can it BE true that David Cameron plans to privatise the police force?  The contract, so it is said, will be given to G4S.  If it becomes reality, after all the scandal G4S had, then David Cameron and his Cabinet insulting once more the people of Britain and just for money. Money in which he and his friends are swimming in anyway but their greed do not seem to have any limit. 


UPDATE;  8 August 2013 -- G4S has stepped back from bidding for another tagging contract. Does it mean they want to stand a chance for the polygraph tests for Probation? Whichever the reason will they improve their service?


Another privatisation, but this time on the quiet, hits the Probation Service. The Government wants to sell off 70 per cent of the Probation Service.

The most incredible fact in this saga is that the government is tempted to give the contract to the G4S in spite of having constant scandals and is facing a police probe into the £50million allegedly swindled on the contract for prisoner tagging fiasco. It had been discovered G4S had billed the government for 18,000 but the true figure was 15,000. The remaining figures were either dead, abroad or in prison.  Even Mr Grayling the Justice Secretary, admitted G4S could have cheated the tax payers over £50millon over the last 15 years.  There again it is amazing that no earlier check was made. After that admission and statement is it twice incredible for Mr Grayling and the government even to consider this company.

This new contract is to check out criminals ready for probation if they tell the truth. It will be monitored by a polygraph tests and involved sex offenders before they freed.  It would show if they are “honest” to ensure there will be no risk to the public. G4S is in favour to win the contract.

A probation officer pointed out the terrible record of this company and can’t understand the government even to consider giving the contract to them. This probation work is responsible to decide to free the most dangerous criminals back on to the street. He thinks it is a recipe for disaster to give the contract of polygraph testing to this company with such bad record. The result of it will be when it is too late and the result will be terrible tragedies.

It was only a year ago when G4S was absolutely incapable to manage the Olympics contract. For a company which is the biggest security company in the world is was nothing but a disgrace.  The government had to call in the military and police to ensure the safety of the athletes and public. How on earth can you still consider this company for another contract leave alone such a vital one as in probation where live of the public could be endangered?

G4S, Serco and Sodexo run the security of 14 private prisons and are all in the bidding for contracts when the probation service is sold off.  The leaked documents show the scheme is rushed through so speedily that it could endanger the public.

A further revelation coming from Mr Grayling is that he wanted charities and volunteers groups dealing with criminals because they could do a better job than probation officer. In some case they certainly could but doesn’t it smell of David Cameron’s big dream of building a ‘Big Society’ with volunteers which to my mind means taking advantage of already the down-trodden public hopefully volunteering with no pay or very little.

Very clever Mr Cameron how about you and your friends volunteering to be Prime Minister and ministers; you would still be more than well off.  Now that would be a good idea and bring the deficit down.
