VERDICT ON PHONE HACKERS AND TORY PARTY - Update: 10 June, 2015

The fact remains that phone hacking had been done, especially on the murdered girl Milli. A large sum of taxpayers'money had been spent to bring the main offenders to justice and the court and judges could not find them guilty is incredible. Even the prevention of justice was wiped off the table by the defending lawyers headed  by Mr Cameron's Brother. Milli's family must be devastated by the outcome

ANDY COULSON
UPDATE:   10 June, 2015 --  The case against Andy Coulson also collapsed. Again the inquiry and court cases were all for nothing but cost the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of pounds.

UPDATE:  5 September, 2014 -- The real guilty ones got away as usual and let the people who only followed orders take the full wrap.  Of course, they should have refused to follow orders but to some extent it is excusable if you are in a high position. Now, they would be better off had they refused.

Nevertheless, it does not make it right for the real guilty ones not to be charged. They should have had the highest sentence because they had the responsibility for the paper and its staff. Besides it was totally wrong for the Prime Minister David Cameron not being forced to forward his email between himself, Brooks and Coulson. It would have given more information and should have been vital first to the inquiry and now to the court case.

At long last the verdict was given on the phone hackers.  Andy Coulson received the longest sentence of 18 months because he was the editor of the News of the World at that time; so was Brooks and she got off the hook. W H Y?  The judge stated that in his (Coulson) position he was more responsible of the plot to intercept thousands of voicemail messages of royals, celebrities and members of the public. It weighed most heavily against them that they were hacking the 13-old Milly’s phone in 2002 which led to the false belief she was still alive.

Two of the former editors Greg Miskiw, 64, and Neville Thurlbeck, 52, received a six months sentence. James Weatherup, 58, a four month suspended sentence and 200 hours of unpaid community work.

The worst in this scenario was that Prime Minister David Cameron employed Andy Coulson straight away when he was sacked after the scandal of phone hacking broke.  Coulson was employed as nothing but the director of communication in 2007. Who would in his right mind would employ a man who is involved in phone hacking as a director of communication in 10 Downing Street? Furthermore David Cameron only sacked Coulson after a long battle from the public and MPs putting on pressure.

Labour leader Ed Miliband went for David Cameron stating:  “My thoughts are with the victims of phone hacking, the victims of Andy Coulson’s behaviour. I think, once again, it throws up serious questions about David Cameron’s judgement in bringing a criminal into the heart of Downing Street, despite repeated warnings. This is a verdict on Andy Coulson’s criminal behaviour and also a verdict on David Cameron’s judgement.”

Coulson, father-of-three from Sutton, South London, England, denied conspiring to intercept voicemails between 2000 and 2006 but was found guilty by a jury. However, a the sentence of 18 months which will be halved for ‘good behaviour’ does not give justice to the crime, hurt and damage he and the others have done.

The judge added: “As we now know Milly was already dead, The News of the World delayed telling the police the contents of the voicemail until they realised they were not going to find Milly. That was unforgivable and could only have happened with the knowledge of the person editing the paper that week. Andy Coulson.”

Private detective Glenn Mulcaire, 43, who hacked the phones, received a suspended six-month sentence. He was already jailed in 2007 with ex-News of the World royal reporter Clive Goodman for hacking phone.

The judge added further: “They were distinguished journalists who had no need to behave as they did to be successful. Now their reputations and careers are irreparable damaged.”

Cameron had the unspeakable nerve to state: “It says it is right justice should be done and no one is above the law.”  Well that really puts the full-stop on it on his principle trying to pull his neck out of the loop.  In my opinion Rebekah Brooks and her husband were found to divert the cause of justice by the police. The police do not bring up allegation lightly in such a high profiled case. Rebekah Brooks was chief editor at that time but never received a sentence. WHY?

REBEKAH BROOKS

David Cameron never handed over the emails between himself, Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson. Why was Cameron not forced to do so? One thing was funny even in this scenario that David Cameron always signed  his email with “lol” thinking it was “lots of love” until Rebekah put him wise that the meaning is “lots of laugh”. Was it just a slip up or does it tells us something more?

Coulson and Goodman face another trial on two charges that they paid for confidential directories with numbers of members of the Royal Family and their staff.

RUPERT MURDOCH

Another person who showed his real character in this case, was Rupert Murdoch. The moment the scandal broke he was off to the USA.  Before this he was all thick with the Conservative Party and its top members as far back as Margaret Thatcher. In her eyes he could do no wrong.  After he was safely away in American he criticised Britain and contemn the way of living. So far he kept well quiet and away from Britain, as before he was more in Britain than in the USA. He broke a 165 year old newspaper The News of the World which he closed down immediately.

CAMERON KEPT EMAILS FROM LEVENSON INQUIRY -- Updated 9 April, 2014

DAVID CAMERON AND REBEKAH BROOKS

AND A LAUGHING HORSE
UPDATE:  9 April, 2014 -- Have they been forwarded at the court case of Rebekah Brooks? Or do they not exist any more. My guess, we will never know.

UPDATE:   25 November 2012 -- Every other person would have been forced to hand them over or their house invaded by the police. Is the government, including the Prime Minister above the Law? Lord Leveson is publishing his report on the findings this week. How can he without having all the facts?

UPDATE 15 November 2012 -- Apparently up till now he still has not handed over the emails which should not be allowed. This is an investigation in to a crime committed of phone hacking and therefore David Cameron should be forced to hand it over. It concerns about 150 emails between David Cameron  and Rebekah Brooks and also Andy Coulson. Is that not called perverting the cause of justice?

THE VERY FACT THAT DAVID CAMERON REFUSES TO HAND THEM OVER PROVES THERE MUST BE EVIDENCE TO THE CASE IN IT.

Apparently dozens of emails between David Cameron and Rebekah Brooks were not handed over to the Levenson’s inquiry. According to Cameron he was acting on personal legal advice. Since we talking about legal, isn't withholding evidence from an inquiry is surely perverting the cause of justice and therefore not legal besides a criminal act? He also kept the emails from the inquiry between him and the ex-News of the World editor Mr Coulson whom he employed as the Tories’ top spin doctor.

It was also discovered that some emails where sent when Coulson was still working for Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper.

All this came to light just weeks before Lord Justice Leveson is going to deliver his final report on Press standards.

A Government lawyer decided that these emails were not ‘relevant'. Of course, it would be a government lawyer who would state this. The fact is that these emails would reveal the apparently unusual close relationship between the PM and former Sun editor and Chief Executive Brooks.

Rebekah Brooks and her husband Charlie were at Eton with Mr Cameron and were members of the “Chipping Norton“ set based in his Oxfordshire seat.

No report would be without the sponge from Downing Street wiping the slate clean. A spokesman said that all the material the inquiry asked for was given to them, In common with previous Prime Ministers, the PM received Government legal advice in order to co-operate fully with a judicial inquiry. Now here we have it.  Just one question. Would a Government Legal advice be different if there was any evidence in the emails pointing to a wrong doing, in other words criminal offence?

All these happening quietly in the background but came to light when the news broke that Brooks received a pay-off of over £7million. At the time she was forced to quit because of the phone hacking evidence. This includes cash, which most properly means tax avoidance, pension’s payments and use of a chauffeur driven car.

Brooks’ court case was postponed till next September when she faces charges on phone hacking.
First of all, who is paying all these over £7million?

It seems to escalate; many bankers who made nothing but creating bankruptcy. The higher they are the unaccountable they will be for their various diabolical and sometimes criminal actions. Not only that but when they eventually get sacked they get one of the highest payout plus pensions and that wouldn’t be a state pension, would it? How is all this justifiable at a time of UK's recession?

Any ordinary worker getting sacked gets nothing. Besides all these undeserved millions are getting paid by the taxpayers. That’s where David Cameron’s AUSTERITY plans should start. The problem is they are all buddies and friends and he certainly stands by them.

NEWS ON PHONE HACKING SCANDAL -- Update 26 June, 2014

REBEKAH BROOKS
UPDATE:  26 June 2014 --  The verdict was Rebekah Brooks is cleared of all charges. How much the family of the Milli Dowler feel? How can that happen? She was an Editor and an Editor has the final check what goes into the paper.  Also it should not been allowed that David Cameron's brother was on the defence team.

The Leveson inquiry was a "white wash" and now this verdict which nobody in the land will buy it. Of course, Coulson and the other will be sentenced  Their career be destroyed and their families.

UPDATE:  17 April. 2014 -- The Court case is on for weeks and Rebekah Brooks, Editor, and Andy Coulson, Editor, both deny knowledge of phone hacking of the murdered school girl Milly Dowler.  Coulson admits he should have paid more attention to what was going on. He was in charge when Rebekah Brooks was away and private investigator Glenn Mulcaire was hacking Milly Dowler's phone.

Brooks and Coulson deny conspiracy to hack phones and other charges.  In  my opinion they were both editors which means checking out.  Trial continues.

UPDATE:  4 October 2013  - September has come and gone but no news about the trial or did with miss it? Is there a news blackout?

UPDATE 18 OCTOBER 2012 ---  Brooks supposed to have appeared at the end of the month but now has been delayed till September next year. W H Y?  Surely the inquiry and investigation has been going on long enough. They must have all the information together by now. Is there a hope growing that the public might forget and Brooks, Coulson and the rest of them quietly fade away?

Even the Prime Minister David Cameron forgotten his promise on transparency and kept the emails between him Brooks and Coulson from the Levenson Inquiry.

Rebekah Brooks who was the editor of the News of the World was yesterday in court and was being charged with plotting to hack into the voicemail of the murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler. Mrs Brooks was the only one in the dock. She wore a navy blue jacket and skirt. During the few minutes hearing at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in central London she only had to confirm her name, address and date of birth.

MURDERED SCHOOLGIRL MILLY DOWLER

The court ordered her not to contact the rest of the ex-employees of the News of the Word. They all will have to appear at the Southwark Crown Court at the end of the month. Mrs Brooks will also have to appear in court regard the alleged conspired to pervert the cause of justice.

Her general charge given yesterday, could amount to 600 victims and another two charges referring to the murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler and ex-union boss Andrew Gilchrist. This is the worst of all their hacking because Milly was missing for a long time and to hack her voicemail and it was said the messages were eliminated is the lowest deed someone can stoop to. Brooks might not have done it but as an editor must have realised it because she was responsible what goes into print. So no pleading innocence.

.
The accused are Mrs Rebekah Brooks ex-editor of the closed-down News of the World, private investigator Glen Malcaire, Andy Coulson former editor and spin-doctor for David Cameron, former managing editor Stuart Kuttner, former news editor Greg Miskiw, and former head of news Ian Edmondson, ex-chief reporter James Weatherup.

Brooks had been released on bail.

They face charges of conspiracy to intercept voicemail between October 3, 2000 and August 9, 2006.

PHONE HACKING SAGA CONTINUES

UPDATE 1 SEPTEMBER 2012:  Another person had been arrest in connect with and bailed but the name had not been revealed yet.

Rebekah Brooks, pal of David Cameron, and Andy Coulson his ex-spin doctor will be charged over hacking Milly Dowler’s phone. There will be five former staff accused of hacking the murdered schoolgirl’s voicemail.

The ex-News of the World editors Rebekah Brooks will be charged with plotting to hack the phone of Milly and ex-Fire Brigades Union boss Andrew Gilchrist.

The Crown Prosecution Service will charge seven of the ex-News of the World staff plus private investigator Glenn Mulcaire. They will have to face 19 phone-hacking charges altogether.

Coulson, Brooks, chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck, ex-managing editor Stuart Kuttner and former executive Greg Miskiw are accused of hacking Milly’s phone and others.

The paper’s ex-head Ian Edmondson and former executive James Weatherup were charged with phone hacking of famous people but not with Milly’s phone hacking. Their accusations were of hacking voicemail messages of well-known people. The prosecution stated that there more than 600.

Some of the alleged charges were politions Lord Prescott, Dame Tessa Jowell and Mark Oaten. Stars were Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jude Law, Stenna Miller, Sadie Frost, Sir Paul McCartney, Heather Mills and footballer Wayne Rooney.

Others were celebrity chef Delia Smith, 7/7 London bomber survivor Prof John Tulloch, George Best’s son Calum and Sven Goran Eriksson.

Police stated that Coulson, Thurlbeck, Edmonson, Weatherup, Kuttner and Miskiw appeared at the police station and were charged with conspiracy to intercept communications without lawful authority from October, 2000 to August 9, 2006. Mulcaire was not charged for legal reasons. However, he was charged for four other offenders and one involving Milly’s phone.

A Met police spokesman said: “Rebekah Brooks had been rebailed to return to a South London police station on a date in early August and has not therefore been charged today.”

The date of August 16 was set aside at the Westminster magistrate’s court in Central London for the eight accused to appear there. If convicted they could face up to two years in prison.

Mrs Brooks issued a statement strait away that she is innocence. Mrs Brooks and her husband are close friend of David Cameron and her husband goes horse riding with Mr Cameron.

Mrs Brooks said: “I am not guilty of these charges.

“I did not authorise, nor was I aware of, phone hacking under my editorship.

“I am distressed and angry that the CPS has reached this decision when they knew all the facts and were in a position to stop the case at this stage.

“The charge concerning Milly Dowler is particular upsetting not only as it is untrue but also because I have spent my journalistic career campaigning for victims of crimes. I will vigorously defend these allegations.”

Brooks also faces three counts of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.  Mrs Brooks and her husband who is a race horse trainer, are accused of the same offence have to appear at Southwark crown court in London on September 26.

Downing Street did, for once, not comment regarding the charges made on Friday.  Wow, that makes a change – no comments – no white washing.

Lord Justice Leveson headed a public inquiry and it ended after 97 days, on Friday. It was held at the Royal Courts of Justice in Central London. He will produce his report as soon as possible.

DESERTER RUPERT MURDOCH -- Updated 6 May, 2015

RUPERT MURDOCH
UPDATED; 6 May, 2015 --  Now the coast is clear again after the trial which announced Rebekah  Brooks and several others not guilty, Mr Murdoch is back again in the UK and campaigning for the Tories.  while he was in the USA he contemned and ridiculed the UK.

It is not surprising that Rupert Murdoch is deserting the ship. From a start he ran straight away to the USA not wasting time. However, will he be safer there because the USA also has an investigation going regarding his phone hacking of which did not know anything about it?

He decided now to resign as a director of the companies publishing The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times.

It is surprising that he was able to buy The Times and The Sunday Times since it is the flagship of the Elite or is it because it is?

It is thought that he will sell the titles and with that he is able to pull head out of the sling. Again a typical case of big boys slipping away. After all the harm that man had done to the public. Sorry, he did not know.

Labour’s Tom Watson said: “It’s hard not to draw the conclusion that Mr Murdoch is deserting his loyal staffs that is left to clean up the ruins after the wrong doing that has been exposed.”

The MP added that Mr Murdoch’s ex-colleagues will see it as a betrayal and so does everybody else.

Admittedly it should not been done but to bring the latest news the pressure was there for them to do it. Over that length of time the phone hacking had been done, surely some of the top must have been aware.

Now we come to the other side of the pond. Mr Murdoch also resigned his directorships at News International, Times Newspaper Holdings and News Corp Investments.

Does that mean, in USA Law, he also pulled his head out the rope there? Or has the USA a better Law than the United Kingdom?

They call it “house cleaning” and it is expected that News Corp splits into two.  Mr Murdoch kept his chairmanship at the News Corp. It certainly does look like Mr Murdoch with his manoeuvres got away. A fox could learn a few tricks there.

DAVID CAMERON'S ELECTION MANIFESTO PROMISES 2010 Updated 1March 2014

UPDATE:  1 March 2014 -- It was revealed that six letters where David Cameron promised vital changes and the promises were never held; were taken off the Internet.  They can only be found in the British Library.  One -  was about data transparency; second - protection of the NHS ; third -  regarding Maternity service; fourth - avoid to be a Surveillance state; fifth - Bill of rights; six -- promise justice and not accepting Human Rights Law.
All the rest of David Cameron's promises it is doubtful any of them were kept.

In February 2010 David Cameron pledged: “Lobbying is the next big scandal to happen. It’s an issue that crosses party lines and tainted our politics far too long. We believe in competition, not cronyism. So we must be the party that sorts this out”.

Fine words but with hind sights the party did not sort it out on the contrary there are too many scandals in the two years the Conservatives and Lib-Dem are in power.

Not only did they not sort it out but tarnished their reputation even more. There was Conservative Treasury Peter Cruddas selling for donation access to the Prime Minister. The access surely wasn’t just to find out how the weather was.

At Public Affairs Bell Pottinger films were made where bosses promised to be able to contact the Premier Minister and his team who would then bring favours about for their clients. Now this again bosses wouldn't have promised if they weren't sure of a contact. Their clients are big business people to whom a promise is not made that lightly.

The former Defence Secretary Liam Fox had to resign because he had a secret adviser Adam Werritty with defence contacts. At first Mr Cameron done everything to stand by Liam Fox in order to avoid his resignation but at the end under public pressure he had to let Liam Fox go. The moment Liam Fox left his post you never heard anything more about him and especially Adam Werritty.

Then there was the case of Mr Coulson who was a Chief Executive at the News of the World and had to resign over the phone-hacking scandal. No sooner did he leave his post he was employed as – you never guess – Communication Secretary at 10 Downing Street. Talking about putting the cat amongst the pigeon. This is an incredible judgement by the Prime Minister David Cameron. Now the man was in a top job where all the secret documents and communication were going through. When all this  emerged Mr Coulson had to resign again  only under public pressure.
