CLOSED HOLLOWAY JAIL BILLS COST £137,500

Since the taxpayers are and always have been footing the bills - it is public property and the Tories have no right to it. Therefore it could be converted into flats or small flat for the homeless. The Tories have no right to demolishing it and building the most luxurious flats mostly bought by rich foreigners who hardly live there.

How can a closed prison's bills cost £137,500?

Holloway prison was once the largest women prison in Europe. It was closed down last summer. The public had to foot a bill of £22,500 on gas; £66,000 on electricity; £23.500 on water and £25,500 on waste and other utility costs for the last six month. How can an empty prison run up these charges?

Ministry of Justice refused to publish the amount spent on security with the reason “be likely to prejudice the commercial interests of the MoJ and its suppliers”.

The main reason for the closure of Holloway prison is the Government wants to sell the site. It is estimated a £200million for the land thought to have 5,000 homes being build there.

Campaigns have already started for homes for the community and not another lot of luxury flats which are bought by oligarch and oversee rich buyers ro be left empty again or rented out for top rents.

The Centre fir Crime and Justice studies receive the figures via Freedom if Information. It wants a “people’s plan” for the jail and invited to give their views.

Rebecca Roberts, co-ordinator of Community Plan for Holloway, said: “Rather than selling to the highest bidder the ministry could put the local community first.”

The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies pointed out Islington has high poverty and housing problems.

Author Matt Ford said: “Out of 326 local authorities in England it is the 24th most deprived and has the fourth highest rate of child poverty in the UK. The redevelopment of the Holloway site could offer a fantastic opportunity.”

Comments from the MoJ are no decision has been made and heating, electricity and security was reduced to a level “necessary to maintain the fabric of the buildings and protect the sites from intruders.”

Surely not to that extent and if it does get demolished it does not need to be kept maintained. Again, the Government is dragging its feet. A decision should have been made months ago to save taxpayers’ money but taxpayers’ money does not matter to this Government.

It would be a different matter if it were Elite’s money.

CAMERON ABANDONED ANOTHER PROMISE

In his election manifesto he promised to be tough on crime. Looking back it makes it obvious that he never met one of his promises. UK and especially the major cities are swamped by crime and the police had a hard job before to keep it down. Therefore the Conservatives gave this promise to get voters on their site because people were fed-up being attacked on the streets and in their houses.

Yes, the Conservatives won the election, only by a minority and built a coalition with the Liberal Democrats.
The moment they were in power they abandon most if not all of their promises including the one being tough on crimes. Furthermore, they cut the police force right down in sacking 16,000 police officers at a time when the streets were riddle with crimes. Especially the elderly and disabled people were not safe because they couldn’t fight back.

Now the Home Secretary Theresa May announced that she will half the sums for crime prevention.  London will cut from £57million to £23million in 2013/14.  Wales from £3.1million to £1.2million.

This will affect the CCTV which is the greatest help to catch criminals, youth project, street lighting and gang prevention work.

No wonder Theresa May is the favourite of David Cameron in spite of her many mess-ups and frequent calls for her to be forced out or her willingly resign from her post.

These further cuts will also show in losing thousands of staff and especially 6,500 frontline officers.

All these reduction will provoke more crime and it will backfire in having more criminals locked up in what they claim in overfilled prisons. This also will result into more cost of keeping these criminals which in the long run does not justify the means of cutting down the police force as well as on crime prevention. When you cut down the impact has also to be looked at. This apparently is not the case made by the government and therefore it will have a chaotic impact on the public.

Next month there will be an election of 41 police and crime prevention commissioners. They are not given an idea what the budget will be and only after 15 November they will have to face the budget they have to work with.  The new commissioners will be in charge of chief constables and take over crime prevention budgets. This is not democracy as it should be. In a democracy all the facts are on the table and the candidates are able to discuss the situation with voters.

Apparently the cities which were worst hit by last year riots have to face the biggest cut. Birmingham will be cut from £1.5million to £620,000, Manchester from £1million to £415,000 and Leeds from £1.1million to £478,000.

CUTTING ALL THE BENEFITS AND SECURITY BY CUTTING DOWN THE POLICE AND THEIR FUNDING MAKES YOU WONDER IF THEY FIND ANYTHING ELSE TO THROW AT THE PUBLIC.  THEY FORGOT THAT IS IT THE PUBLIC WHO VOTED THEM IN AND NOW THEY ARE KICKING THE PUBLIC IN THE TEETH NON-STOP.

HUMAN RIGHTS FOR WHOM?

There is too much controversy and contradiction surrounding the Human Rights. First of all who is running this country? Is it the court in Strasbourg or the government, Department of Justice and Home Secretary?

Too often it is explained that because of their Human Rights they can’t be deported.  That is a smoke screen and flat excuse as ever there was. The Italian and Spanish deport them all the time regardless of Human rights. They pay the fine of a few thousand pounds and that is it for them. Why can’t Britain do the same?

According to the Government official statement there are 371,000 foreign nationals in Britain living on benefits. It is assumed that about 5,000 illegal immigrants receiving benefit and it adds up to £42million.
The culprit in this mis-management is the UK Border Agency. Again it was privatised and the mess began. According to the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration it was found there are at least 150,000 illegal immigrants living in Britain. An awful lot of people roaming in the street and nobody knows who they are.

==============================================================

IF YOU SEE AN ADVERT WHICH INTERESTS YOU PLEASE CLICK ON IT TO FIND MORE DETAILS
===============================================================

Apparently the UKBA has only contact 40 per cent of them so far. An even greater idiocy is that the UKBA lets people walk in and when the cases are coming to court the judges let them stay on account of their Human Rights whether they are terrorists, murders or rapists. As mentioned earlier on, other countries just deport them and when it comes to court in Strasbourg they have to pay the fine. It is definitely cheaper than paying out all these benefits, prison or whatsoever. There is no accuse of not deporting them.

A few fine example. Two Somali criminals succeeded to stay in the UK because of the HR. They had on their list robbery, drug dealings, burglary and threaten to kill.

Another one from Lithuania who had a string of sex offence in his country was allowed to stay and raped a 40 year old woman. They still won’t deport him after he served his prison sentence because he is leaning again on HRs.

Six Islamic terrorists could not be deported to Algeria and Theresa May accused the action because they were in great danger.

Same as with Abu Qatada who fights for seven years deportation and hides behind HRs.  It must have cost millions by now with benefits and legal fees for the courts.

The list could go on and on. There is no criticism on decent foreign immigrants coming to this country and does right. It is pointing criminals which never change, coming to this country have audacity to carry on their vile crimes and demand to be supported by taxpayers’ money, instead of being grateful that they have a better life. Not asking but demanding everything they can get hold of.

Pay the fine like the Italians do and deport them, The Italian couldn’t give a damn so why should Britain? To come to this country and abuse it in every way where is the Human Rights for the people in Britain?

JAILED PERVERTS GET VIOLENT DVDs

Whatever next? You asked yourself when you read about ludicrous scheme like that. It is not the provision of these kind DVDs to be given to prisoners who committed crimes but it is also taxpayers’ money wasted on criminals who don't deserve it and also shouldn’t be encouraged to watch violent DVDs like that.

These criminals are most properly there for violence, rape and murder and yet the prison has a 550 DVDs showing extreme violence, graphic rape, The Silence of the Lambs and The Bank Job.

Wherever is the sense of the government to allow it? These criminals are supposed to be punished to improve their behaviour and rehabilitate.  Rehabilitation is the hardest thing to do in the best of time.  Surely with having access to such filth won’t do it.

The Justice secretary Ken Clarke is cutting back on prison and closing already one prison which is wrong. Over the last few years there was always an outcry that the poor prisoners are all ill treated because they are overcrowded in prison and new prison should be build. Mr Clarke all of sudden finds a prison empty. This is not a miracle it is letting the criminals run wild on the streets. Oh sure he and his family and friends are safe in their mansions. It is the ordinary people who get attack, especially old people who deserve all the respect after what they been through for this country.

A further controversy was revealed that Con-Air showing inmate escaping in hijacked planes.

Ken Clarke should cut back on these sorts of ‘services’ which would surely amount to quite a few hundred of thousands of pounds or maybe even more. Ken Clarke should cut all these luxuries and he will be surprised how low the cost of running a prison comes to. Never mind about their Human Rights other countries don't listen to it. The criminals forsaken their Human Rights when they committed the crimes.

This is only one prison at Monmouth, South Wales where this scandal was revealed and the prison service put out a remark which is so unbelievable that a person can make such a statement. They stated that inmates some of them serving life terms are only allowed DVDs with good behaviour.

Gosh it sounds like a joke out of the TV series “Porridge” where ‘Stanley Fletcher’ was dodging all the time to gain something.

Are they just trying to white wash the crazy idea or do they not really see it what being in prison is all about.

DEPORTING FOREIGN CRIMINALS

Since every country has its own fair share of criminals it doesn’t want foreign criminals as well. So why is a country like Britain not allowed to deport them?

According to the statistics around 4,000 foreigners who committed crimes in this country can’t be deported. This high number not only is a danger to the country in committing crimes again but also very costly because they mostly live on benefit including their families.

Further information was revealed that about 1,500 foreigners are imprisoned every month. This again puts a strain on the prison service as well as cost on benefit. Out of the 1,500 only 375 are deported when they finished their sentences. It is also reported that one criminal escaped nine times and cost and effort were spent to catch him again.

Everybody, including MPs, wants a foreign criminal deported the moment the sentence is served. As a matter of fact it would even safe a lot of time and money to deport the person the moment he/she is convicted of a crime. The moment the person commits a crime all the appeals and privileges should be taken away. That person does not acknowledge or appreciate the better life style in this country. Why should a person have to right to appeal against deportation? The abused the law in this country. They know fully well that they are in a foreign country and therefore should abide by the law.

The worst interfering body is the Human Rights Court. Yet, France and Italy are deporting them and defying the decision of HRC why doesn’t Britain? When they defy the decision they have to pay a few hundred pounds which would justify it by saving benefits.

The government is forever calling for austerity but they will not safe money where it should be saved.
